Optimistic; Masaru likes to think of the positive side of any situations. He's usually seen happy and outgoing, never letting anything try and ruin his day. Although he seems more like he's smirking and making fun, but he's not, he does that to make himself look cool in front of people instead of using his real smile.

Wimp ; Although Masaru looks how he looks, he's actually a wimp deep down trying to look like a bad boy. He fears pain and horror movies or anything horror related. A single move that looks like he's about to get hit by someone makes him flinch and covers his face for protection. Even a small headache makes him whine.

Tough, kinda; He hides his real self by teasing people and uses a sarcastic tone when an answer to a question is obvious. He tries to make himself look mighty and a bully by glaring sometimes but really he's just acting. Though this tough look is just a first impression he makes when you get to know him he becomes his real self.

Joker; He happens to joke around a lot when he gets to know you. Most of the time its him teasing and he'll go overboard with it sometimes where he'll apologize over and over again until you forgive him and if you don't then he'll just give you simple presents (a sketch, origami, flower from where ever etc. ).

Easily Confuse; Due to his condition he'll be easily confuse every day of his life. So when someone asks him about homework or anything he'll be really confused about it and has no idea about it what so ever. This only happens the next day. He'll remember perfectly who you are and what has happened on that one day only but the next day he'll forget everything about that one day.

Masaru was raised by his Mother and grew up with his older sister in Hokkaido, Japan. They pretty much had a normal life despite the fact that their father was not with them that much due to their parents relationship not working out back then. However they do visit their father at times and their parents now have a 'friendship' like relationship, nothing more nothing less.

When he was younger Masaru was always bullied, but no matter how many times his teacher would give those kids a time out and call their parents they'd come back and pick on Masaru or throw pebbles at him. As they continued bullying Masaru his sister, who was 15 years older than him, would come and rescue him by scaring his bullies away by wearing a costume from a popular horror movie at that time. Although it worked, she had accidentally scared Masaru too who started crying hysterically when she tried to carry Masaru home. This had cause his fear of pain (from the bullies) and anything horror related'' (his sisters fault''').

As years went by he became more optimistic and made himself look tough enough where he wouldn't be bullied again. At that time his sister had married and moved out to live with her new husband where Masaru stayed with his mother and helped out around the house. They're still close to this day on even though they actually just live next door.

School was no problem for Masaru. He wasn't that smart, but he'll get okay scores and grades enough to pass him every year. At times he always looks like he doesn't care for the subjects by looking out the window or just doodling on his paper for notes, however he IS listening and understands 95% what his teacher is teaching, he just doesn't look it.

At the age 18 Masaru had gotten into a tragic accident when he was walking to school for his first day of his 3rd year of High School, which had cause him to go into a coma for a couple weeks. When he woke up and was better enough to move on his own he had no memory of the accident. His mother and sister was confused when Masaru had started getting ready for school, his first morning back home from the hospital. When they'd asked him where he was going, since they were told to keep him home and take a break from school, he'd answer he didn't want to be late and get in trouble on the first day of school. This would happen everyday with Masaru having no memories of the previous day and only remembering things that happened before the day of the accident.

Masaru's family was told that he had Anterograde Amnesia, where he is unable to gain new memories, but his long-term memory remains intact. Each day would be the same day to Masaru unless he is told about his accident where he'll deny about it at first but accept the fact later on that day, but in the end he'll just forget what he was told the next day and they'd have to explain it to him again. His mother had kept Masaru home for a while and never told him about the accident by saying she called in sick for him at school and left his calendar on the same month, she was scared that when he'd walked out the house he'll get into another accident and probably lose him. But she was then convinced to finally have him go back to school when Masaru's birthday came by and she'd realized that one day he'll notice changes that were obvious. She had then found out about Yukimura High by Masaru's father and agreed to have Masaru go to the school.

-- If you introduce yourself to him and hang out for the day, he'll forget who you are and everything that happened the next day.

-- Will sometimes freak out how people would know his name when he doesn't remember meeting them.

-- Must be told where he's going every morning by someone trust worthy or he'll end up confused and lost wondering where the heck is he.

-- Though he's unable to gain new memories, he'll actually remember a few things (like lessons in class) he'll just wont remember where he got that information from, though it rarely happens.

-- Will have to finish homework on that day it was given or he'll know nothing about it.

-- Thinks he's still 18 when he's really 19.

-- Has a huge soft Monkey plushie that he can't sleep without.

-- Will flirt at times with any gender cause he doesn't care for that _{he's just bad at it so he rarely does'''}

-- DON'T EAT HIS COOKING. He may like cooking and it'll probably look good but he sucks at it and it'll taste disgusting, but he's in denial that he can't make his food taste good.
